abstract (57) [Summary] [Purpose] The large thrust required at launch and the increase in specific thrust after ascent can be achieved without changing the nozzle or propellant. It is intended to be realized with one engine. [Structure] The combined cycle rocket engine of the present invention is A circuit for supplying liquid oxygen LOX and liquid hydrogen LH 2 to the main combustion chamber 9 of the engine by the pump 12, and a part of these propellants is supplied from the pump to the turbine driving gas generator 13. A circuit that discharges the generated gas from the auxiliary nozzle 10 after driving the turbine 11 and a circuit that drives the turbine with liquid hydrogen that has been pumped out and has cooled and vaporized the main combustion chamber and the nozzle to supply the gas to the main combustion chamber. The gas generator cycle and the expander cycle are switched by the valves 1 to 8 provided in each circuit. First, the gas generator cycle is used at the time of launch, and then the expander cycle is used after the ascent. .
