(57) [Summary] [Structure] A glyceryl ether represented by the following general formula (1A) [in the formula, R 1a and R 2a may be the same or different and each has 2 to 21 carbon atoms] Manufacturing method. [Chemical 1] [Effect] Alkyl glyceryl ether (1A) has good physical properties because many of them have a low melting point and are liquid at room temperature, even though their alkyl portion is branched at the α-position of the carbon chain, despite their large molecular weight. Therefore, usability as a lubricant or polar oil is good. In addition, it is also recognized as an interaction with water, and is useful as an emulsifier or a moisturizer. Further, according to the method of the present invention, an alkyl glyceryl ether can be inexpensively synthesized in a high yield from oleochemicals or synthetic aldehydes and ketones and glycerin which are inexpensive and can be sufficiently supplied. |
