abstract |
(57) Abstract: A composition that can be used as a catalyst for the production of an olefin polymer having a multimodal molecular weight distribution is provided. A composition containing a transition metal-containing catalyst, a metallocene and a boron-containing organoaluminoxane, wherein each of the above components of the composition serves as a catalyst, preferably in the presence of a cocatalyst. Is present in an amount effective to obtain a polymer having a multimodal molecular weight distribution. The composition comprises (1) contacting a transition metal-containing catalyst with an organoaluminoxane dispersed in a solvent to form a slurry; (2) combining the slurry with a boroxine to form a transition metal-containing catalyst and a boron-containing catalyst. A combination with an organoaluminoxane containing is prepared; and (3) this combination can be prepared by contacting with a metallocene. |
