abstract | (57) Abstract: A high molecular weight aromatic polycarbonate having excellent hue and heat resistance is produced. An aromatic diol compound and a compound represented by the general formula (I): (In the formula, R 1 and R 2 each independently have a carbon number of 1 to 10 represents an alkyl group or an alkoxy group, and m and n are integers of 0-2. In the method for producing an aromatic polycarbonate by performing a melt polycondensation reaction with a diaryl carbonate compound represented by the formula (4) using an ester exchange reaction catalyst, the compound represented by the general formula (II): (In the formula, R 3 , R 4 , R 5 and R 6 each independently represent an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, an aryl group, an aralkyl or a cycloalkyl group, and X 1 − is a carbonate ion or a phosphoric acid. Ion, an anion selected from tetrahydroxyboron ion, and 1 represents the valence thereof, and a quaternary phosphonium salt compound represented by the formula (4) is used. |
