abstract | (57) [Summary]nA catalyst for producing bimodal linear low density polyethylene, especially those containing high molecular weight fractions. To form the catalyst, the support is contacted with an organomagnesium compound to incorporate magnesium into the support, followed by contacting the support with the incorporated magnesium with the silicon compound and then the transition metal source. The transition metal-containing intermediate is treated again with the organomagnesium compound to form the catalyst precursor, and the catalyst precursor is activated with dimethylaluminum chloride. |
