abstract | (57) [Summary] [Objective] To provide a mold and a method for producing the same, in which gas defects are less likely to occur in the obtained casting and harmful gas is less likely to be generated during pouring. [Structure] The mold is composed of a mold body and a coating agent applied to the surface of the mold body. The mold body is made using a sand composition containing a refractory granular material mainly containing recycled sand, a binder made of an acid-curable resin, and an acidic catalyst such as a phosphoric acid compound or a sulfonic acid compound. It is a thing. The refractory granular material preferably contains 90% by weight or more of recycled sand. The weight ratio of the phosphorus atom content and the sulfur atom content in the reclaimed sand is 0.005 ≦ [sulfur atom content / (Phosphorus atom content + Sulfur atom content)] ≦ 0.5 is satisfied. Further, the weight ratio of the phosphorus atom content and the sulfur atom content in the acidic catalyst preferably satisfies the formula 0.01 ≦ [sulfur atom content / (phosphorus atom content + sulfur atom content)] ≦ 0.7. . The coating agent has a nitrogen atom content of 0.10% by weight or less. |
