abstract | (57) [Summary] [Purpose] To reduce the capacity of the cell buffer. [Configuration] Virtual channels VC # 1 to # 3 are multiplexed by a multiplexer 23 into one cell row, and a write controller 25 stores the VC immediately before the VC depending on which VC is for each incoming cell. The cell address is attached to the incoming cell, and the empty address management unit 26 of the cell storage unit 21 writes to various addresses. For each #i, each cell is stored and chained together with the address at which the next cell is stored, that is, an individual cell buffer is virtually constructed. The cell storage unit 21 is read by the read control unit 27 at substantially constant time intervals and is supplied to the transmission path 15 to form a virtual path. |
