Laser diode array assembly and method of operation thereof |
abstract |
A laser diode array assembly having an integrated means for recording operating events and maintaining this information with the assembly throughout the service life of the assembly. An operation method is provided. A memory device mounted integrally with an array and having operating information about the array is accessible by a host external operating system. The host external operating system determines how to power the array 30 based on the operational information and enables the memory device 42 to write to the external operating system to limit operating conditions, operating abnormalities, Important events, such as the on-time of the device or shot count, can be recorded in the memory device. The assembly 40 has a sensor 44 to which an operating system is connected. |
