abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To provide means for generating a high-power optical pulse on the order of femtoseconds. SOLUTION: The high-output optical pulse generation device of the present invention comprises: A fiber oscillator 10 for generating a signal light, an amplification fiber 11 having a nonlinear phase delay and receiving and amplifying and compressing the signal light and also serving as a soliton Raman compressor (SRC), and frequency conversion of the amplified light pulse And a PPLN (periodic polling LiNbO 3 ) 20 which is a frequency converter for converting the light into a high output light pulse. The dispersion is compensated by the dispersion compensating fiber 18. Further, the light pulse is reflected by the Faraday rotating mirror (FRM) 19 to take a double-pass form. The energy from the pump light injected from the pump 16 is obtained, the signal light is amplified and compressed, and a high-power optical pulse on the order of femtoseconds is obtained at a wavelength whose frequency is converted by the PPLN frequency converter 20.
