SOLUTION: A dye dissolved in an aqueous solution is electrochemically oxidized or reduced using a counter electrode. As a result, the dye is insolubilized in the aqueous solution, and the electrodeposition film is deposited on the electrode substantially based on the action of the dye itself. This is used as an image forming medium. The dye 3 is transferred from the electrodeposition film 40 to the transfer medium 6 by an electrochemical method or the like, thereby forming an image on the transfer medium 6.
