(57) SUMMARY Disclosed are methods of treating a disease characterized by overexpression of deaminase or deoxycytidine deaminase in a subject in need of such treatment. The method is such that X and X 1 are each independently C or N; R 1 is lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, lower alkynyl, halogen, or haloalkyl; and R 2 is H, —N 3 , —OH Administering to a subject an amount of a compound of formula (I), which is an amino, amino, or halogen, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, in an amount effective to treat the disease. Also disclosed are pharmaceutical formulations useful in the methods of the present invention. |
