titleOfInvention Shaft sealing method and its device
abstract PURPOSE: To improve the seal of a shaft of a turbine driven by liquefied natural gas, by disposing a plurality of seals to said shaft, and by introducing an insert gas pressureized among these seals. n CONSTITUTION: Liquefied gas in a liquefied natural gas tank 1 is introduced to an expansion turbine 5 through a pump 2 and a carbureter 3, and the turbine 5 is driven. Gas in the tank 1 is is also introduced to another compressor 14, etc., and the compressor 14 is driven. Gas after driving these devices is fed to consuming areas through a pipe 4. Seal elements 9, 10, 11 at the atmospheric air side, the cental side and the inside are disposed to a shaft 8 of the turbine 5 while an inert gas pressurized through pipe 12 is introduced among each element, and natural gas leaking out to the outside through the shaft 8 is sealed. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
