abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title compound useful as a reactive diluent of epoxy resins in a high yield and purity, by reacting oleyl alcohol with epichlorohydrin in the presence of a specific dehydrating agent together with a condensing agent. n CONSTITUTION: Oleyl alcohol is reacted with epichlorohydrin in the presence of a dehydrating agent, e.g. anhydrous sodium carbonate, anhydrous potassium carbonate, arhydrous sodium sulfate, sodium oxide, etc., together with a condensing agent consisting of a hydroxide and a hydride of an alkali metal to give glycidyl oleyl ether in one tage in a yield of about 80%. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
