| abstract | PURPOSE: The title composition capable of giving molded articles having improved flame retardancy and mechanical strength, and reduced anisotropy of molding shrinkage, comprising glass fibers, mica, and a specific copolyester. n CONSTITUTION: (A) 50W85 wt.% of a copolyester obtained by copolymerizing (a) terephthalic acid (ester) with (b) an alkylene glycol (ester-forming derivative) and (c) a halogen-containing diol of formula (R is 2W6C alkylene group; R 1 is 1W10C bifunctional organic group; X is halogen; l and m are 1W4; p and q are 1W10), preferably 2,2-bis [4-(2-hydroxy-ethoxy)-3,5-dibromophenyl] propane, is incorporated with (B) 5W10 wt. % of glass fibers, (C) 5W40 wt.% of mica, and, if necessary, (D) an antimony oxide, (D) asbestos and/or rock wool to give the objective composition. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio |
