titleOfInvention Sodium leakage detection unit
abstract PURPOSE: To detect the leakage of Na to an atmosphere by circulating atmosphere gas at a sampling point through a solution, which reacts on Na, and detecting the generation of the reaction. n CONSTITUTION: Na is stored in inside wall 1a, and atmosphere gas in gap 1c of detection part 1 consisting of inside and outside walls 1a and 1b is circulated between detection vessel 4, which stores reaction liquid (for example, water) and gap 1c through sampling tube 3 by blower 2 as shown in the arrow, and vessel 4 is provided with detector 6. When Na is leaked into gap 1c of detection part 1, Na is transferred into detection vessel 4 through sampling tube 3 and reacts on reaction liquid to generate hydrogen and change pH of liquid, and this pH change is detected by hydrogen meter 6b and pH meter 6a (detector) to detect Na leakage. Simultaneously, remote driving valve 7 is closed rapidly to trip blower 2 by the detection signal above, thereby preventing excessive Na from flowing into detection vessel 4. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
