abstract PURPOSE: To make gas press. just before an exhaust gas pretreating unit, constant, at the inlet of a sulfuric acid plant by controlling revolution of the main exhaust fan of the plant and opening or closing of the inlet damper of the fan according to gas press. fluctuations at the time of starting or stopping operation of a converter. n CONSTITUTION: Blast damper 11 is set in air feed pipe 10 of converter 5, delivery side damper 12 just behind exhaust fan 6 for transporting converter exhaust gas, and main exhaust fan inlet damper 13 just before main exhaust fan 8 of a sulfuric acid plant. Gas press. oscillator 14 is placed just before sulfuric acid plant inlet gas cleaning unit 7. At the position of oscillator 14 exhaust gas from smelting furnace 2 and exhaust gas from converter 5 join, and at the time of starting or stopping blast to converter 5 press. fluctuations due to a gas vol. change occur. According to the fluctuations the speed of revolution of fan 8 and the opening of damper 13 are regulated to control the press. of the gas joining point at a constant value. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
