titleOfInvention Cleaning unit for gas
abstract PURPOSE: TO prevent decrease in deodorizing effect of a deodorizing soln. so as to reduce the operation cost for deodorization, by recycling a portion of deodorizing soln. for washing-deodorizing tower for malodorous gas, and by cooling the recycling deodorizing soln. on the way in order to deposit and remove the product of deodorization. n CONSTITUTION: A gas 1 contg. malodorous components such as ammonia, hydrogen sulfide etc. is charged to a washing tower 2 through the lower part thereof. It is then washed and deodorized with a spray 22 of sodium hypochlorite soln. for use in deodorizing and washing, and the mist contained in the gas is removed by a demister 23 to form a cleance gas 24 which is released. By the deodorizing reaction, ammonia is converted to nitrogen and water, and hydrogen sulfide to sulfuric acid, which is accumulated in the base soln. 42 of the tower 2. The pH of the base soln. 42 is measured by a pH meter 9, whose output is fed to a control unit 10 to drive a pump 11 so as to charge alkali from a tank 12 to the base soln. 42 to adjust the pH to 6W8. Because sodium sulfate is formed by the reaction, the base soln. is cooled in a thickner 14 by a refrigerator 13 to crystallize and to remove the sodium sulfate to form a washing soln. for deodorization which is used once again. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
