titleOfInvention | Preparation of quick-crystallizable polyester |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled polyester most suitable for a molded product, by combining the inside or terminal of a specified polyester molecular chain with a compound giving a liquid crystal segment structure, which gives a liquid crystal- isotropic liquid transition temperature over a specified value. n CONSTITUTION: The titled polyester is obtained by combining the inside or terminal of a polyester molecular chain consisting of a repeating unit of formula I (wherein R is the residue containing no carboxyl group of an aromatic, alicyclic or aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, which consists of 90mol% or more of terephtatic acid residue; D is a 2W6C organic diol residue containing no OH group), with a compound [e.g., cholesterol or formula II (wherein one or both terminals of Y 1 and Y 2 consist of COOH or OH; X is formula III or IV)] giving a crystal segment structure which gives a liquid crystal-isomeric liquid transition temperature ≥100°C. A resin composition is obtained by mixing said polyester with a polyethylene terephthalate or a polyester containing 90mol% or more of polyethylene terephthalate unit, in such a proportion as to contain 0.1W10wt% of the residue of a compound giving a liquid crystal segment. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio |
