titleOfInvention Water-level meter prevented from freezing electrically
abstract PURPOSE:To prevent the water-level meter from being frozen by a method wherein a required number of skin current heated pipes having approximately the same length with that of a metallic protection pipe is vertically and directly welded to the inner or outer surface or both inner and outer surfaces of the protection pipe. CONSTITUTION:The protection pipe 9 of the water-level meter protects a water- level detecting element consisting of a float 11 and a balance weight 12 therefor. A water-level converter 15 is constituted so as to indicate the water level converted thereby or to send the same to other device as a signal. Moreover, the water-level meter is provided with a water-inlet port 13 introducing water 10 in a pond into the protection pipe 9, the upper and lower end boxes 14 and 14' of insulated wires 2, a service power supply 16, etc. as attachments. In addition, on the protection pipe 9, steel pipes 1 and 1' and the like constituting a required number of skin current heated pipes having nearly the same length with that of the protection pipe 9 are fitted by welding. By making AC current i flow through the insulated wires 2, the current i also flows through the inner skins of the steel pipes 1 and 1' and the like, and the freezing is prevented by heating thereof.
