titleOfInvention Modificating method for catalyst carrier
abstract PURPOSE: To prevent pulverization and the movement of catalyst poisons to catalyst surfaces without degrading catalyst activity, specific surface areas, etc. by treating a catalyst carrier with the soln. of an org. metallic compd. which can form oxidized metallic films through thermal decomposition then treating the same by heating. n CONSTITUTION: An org. metallic compd. which can form oxidized metallic films through thermal decomposition is dissolved in a suitable solvent or water. This soln. is coated on a catalyst carrier by such a method as spraying or the carrier is immersed in the soln. Thence, the carrier is treated by heating to allow the solvent on the carrier to evaporate. The org. parts of the solute are removed by firing, whereby the oxide film of the metal which is the solute is formed continuously or discontinuously on the carrier. The catalyst carrier treated by this method is prevented of pulverization without degrading its intrinsic catalyst activity, specific surface area, porosities, etc. and is also prevented of the movement of the undesirable components to the catalyst surfaces. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
