abstract | PURPOSE:To obtain a gas-detecting element of miniaturized dimensions, rapid response and high reliability, by installing different metallic electrodes respectively on both sides of a sintered body characterized by O2-ion conductivity of oxides of a specific composition of three elements, La, W and Zr. CONSTITUTION:On both surfaces of a sintered dise 3 characterized by O2-ion conductivity as represented by La10(W1-xZrx)2O21 different kinds of electrodes are equipped respectively, in such a way that the electrode 1 is made from Pt and the electrode 2 from Ag and a lead wire 4 is connected to each-electrode. Then, a porous protecting layer 6 is formed by injection of molten alumina. Thus, this element is characterized by its miniaturized dimensions, high output, with less secular change in electro motive force due to the layer 6 and of quick response and is available for measurement with excellent linearity concentrations of combustible gases, such as CO gas, CH, H2 gas, etc. |
