titleOfInvention Method for refining high chromium steel
abstract PURPOSE:To shorten the time required to refine high Cr steel, to improve the yield of Cr, and to attain the desired P content by mixing molten high Cr metal melted in a reactor with molten iron dephosphorized in other reactor and refining the mixed molten metal. CONSTITUTION:Molten high Cr metal melted in an electric furnace (melting furnace) 2 or the like and molten iron dephosphorized in a torpedo car 1 or the like are charged into a vessel 3 and mixed so as to adjust the C content of the mixed molten metal to >=2.5%, the P content to <=0.03%, and the temp. to >=1,350 deg.C. The mixed molten metal is refined in a converter 4 or the like.
