titleOfInvention | Production of resin for coating |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled resin for coating, by adding a thermal reaction product of pentaerythritol and a fatty acid to waste polyethylene terephthalate to obtain a resin intermediate having a specific number-average molecular weight, and adding a polybasic carboxylic acid, etc. to the intermediate. n CONSTITUTION: Pentaerythritol and an animal or vegetable oil fatty acid such as soybean fatty acid, linseed oil fatty acid, etc. are subjected to the dehydrative condensation reaction preferably at 200W300°C for 1W3hr to obtain an alcohol derivative having an average functionality of 1.8W3.2. 100pts.wt. of the alcohol derivative is mixed with 50W300pts.wt. of waste polyethylene terephthalate and subjected to the ester-exchange reaction preferably at 200W300°C for 1W3hr. The objective resin for coating having a number-average molecular weight of 2,000W 8,000 can be produced by mixing 100pts.wt. of the resultant resin intermediate having a number-average molecular weight of 800W2,000 with 4W10pts.wt. of a polybasic carboxylic acid such as phthalic acid, trimellitic acid, etc., and reacting preferably at 200W250°C for 4W10hr. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio |
