titleOfInvention Glow discharge tube for emission spectral analysis
abstract PURPOSE: To prevent a trouble caused by short circuit between an anode and a cathode, inserting a short joint tube into the cathode body inside having a space used as an exhaust passageway and extending it from the anode body, and by covering the short joint tube with a lagging made of insulating material. n CONSTITUTION: By forming a glow discharge tube of emission spectral analysis light source containing anode A, cathode K, window W and sample S, and by discharging argon gas etc. supplied from a gas inlet In, to outside from a gas outlet O 2 through exhaust passageway formed between a short joint tube T extended from the anode A and a hollow section of the cathode K and the sample S, and the glow discharge tube can make discharge by high voltage between the anode and the cathode. At this time, by setting the short joint tube T which is made of thin wall metal tube, into an insulating tube 1, and by forming a space G between one end of the insulating tube 1 and the sample S, and the one end of the short joint tube T is made to go back inside of the insulating tube 1. Therefore, by preventing the short circuit between the anode and the cathode caused by sticking volatile matter, the stable discharge can be obtained. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
