titleOfInvention | Parts of internal-combustion engine using mixed fuel |
abstract | PURPOSE:To enable parts of an internal-combustion engine to be prevented from corrosion, by forming a bridged product film of epoxy-system resin on a contact surface with liquid or vapor of alcohol, in the case of the internal-combustion engine using fuel of alcohol system. CONSTITUTION:Parts of an internal-combustion engine are corroded due to a reason such that a structural material of iron or aluminum system alloy and the like, if it comes into contact with alcohol like ethanol and methanol or the like, acts as a catalyst producing a strong acid such as formic acid and acetic acid by the following expression of reaction CH3OH HCOOH, C2H2OH CH3COOH. Therefore, a heat-resistant bridged product film of epoxy-system resin is formed on a surface, brought into contact with liquid or vapor of alcohol, of the parts of the internal-combustion engine. Then the metal, constituting the parts, is prevented from acting as the catalyst by completely sealing a surface of the metal. |
