abstract PURPOSE: To prepare a fuel suitable for pipe line transport and excellent in storage and transport stabilities, by adding an amphoteric compd. having cationic and anionic groups in the molecule, to a dispersion fuel consisting mainly of powdered coal and alcohol. n CONSTITUTION: An amphoteric compd. of formula I having cationic and anionic functional groups in the molecule is added to a liquid/solid dispersion fuel consisting mainly of a mixt. of powdered coal and alcohol. In formula I , R 1 is 14W32C alkyl, alkenyl, benzyl or of formula II (R 5 is 2W4C alkylene; n represents the number of moles of added alkylene oxide and is 1W15; R 4 is 1W4C straight-chain alkylene, a part of which may be substituted). The amphoteric compd. is added usually in an amt. of 0.005W5% based on total weight of dispersion fuel, although it varies according to type, particle size distribution, etc. of the coal. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1985,JPO&Japio
