titleOfInvention Edge drop restraining method for rolled plate
abstract PURPOSE:To restrain edge drop by controlling thermal expansion of a mill-roll at an outside part from an edge part of rolled plate, the edge part and near a center part from the edge part by using cooling nozzles and heating apparatus accurately to make a distribution of the thermal expansion of the mill-roll at near the edge part of the rolled plate to taper-like condition. CONSTITUTION:A large number of the cooling nozzles 3 are arranged to control water flow rate at the inlet side of the mill-roll 1. Further, the nozzles 4 are arranged to spray low-temp. coolant at the outside part of roll from the edge art of the rolled plate 2, and also an induction heating apparatus 5 is arranged at a corresponding part of the roll to the edge part of the rolled plate 2. And A1 is cooling ability for the outside part of the roll from the edge part of the rolled plate, A2 is cooling ability for the edge rolled part of the roll and B2 is heating ability for the same part of the roll, A3 is cooling ability for the part of the roll from the edge part to near the center of the rolled plate and B3 is heating ability for the same part of the roll, and then, temp. for the mill- roll 1 is controlled so as to be A1>A3>A2 and B2>B3.
