abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title filter having many uniform through pores by filling ceramic paste between bundled glass thin tubes, and then treating the product with hydrogen fluoride to volatilize the glass. n CONSTITUTION: A glass tube is melted to produce many glass thin tubes having 10Wseveral hundreds μm diameter. While many glass thin tubes are bundled, ceramic paste is continuously filled between glass thin tubes, and heated to produce a glass thin tube-ceramic paste bundle. The glass thin tube-ceramic paste bundle is treated with hydrogen fluoride to volatilize the glass part, and a ceramic green compact having many through pores is produced. The compact is baked at high temp. to produce a ceramic element having many through pores 1'.
