titleOfInvention Refining method in molten iron spout
abstract PURPOSE:To improve the refining efficiency in a molten iron spout and to extend the life of the molten iron spout by forming a broad slag flow passage to the optional position of the molten iron spout, plunging a lance into the molten iron flow passage on the lower side and blowing a refining agent together with a carrier gas into the molten iron. CONSTITUTION:The broad slag flow passage 1b is formed in the optional posi tion of the molten iron spout 1 and the top end of the injection lance 2 is plunged into the molten iron flow passage 1a on the lower side to blow the refining agent F such as desiliconizing agent together with the carrier gas C into the molten iron M in a method for introducing the refining agent into the molten iron spout and refining the molten iron. The refining agent F is vigorously stirred in the molten iron F and the formed slag S stagnates in the slag flow passage 1b to thoroughly refine the molten iron M. The flow rate of the slag S is decreased and the erosion of the spout 1 and the lance 2 is suppressed. The splashing of the molten iron M and the refining agent F by the blowing of the carrier gas C is captured into the molten iron spout by which the decrease of the molten iron loss, the improvement of the refining efficiency, the assurance of the operators' safety, etc. are attained.
