abstract | PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material having favorable stability of developed color images and fulfilling other requirements, by using crystal violet lactone and a p-substd. aminophenylindolylphthalide derivative as electron-donative colorless dyes. CONSTITUTION:Crystal violet lactone and a p-substd. aminophenylindolylphthalide derivative are used as colorless dyes. Among the p-substd. aminophenylinolylphthalide derivatives, a 4-substd. amino-2- alkoxyphenylindolylphthalide is preferred from the viewpoint of the hue of color formed. The ratio of the amounts of crystal violet lactone and the p- substd. aminophenylinolylphthalide derivative used is determined according to performance, the hue of color formed and economy, but the amount of the p-substd. aminophenylindolylphthalide derivative is preferably at least 10%, particularly, at least 30%. An electron-acceptive compound preferably has at least one phenolic hydroxyl group, and may be a salicylic acid derivative, a phenol derivative, a phenolic resin or the like. Among these compounds, a salicylic acid derivative is preferred from the viewpoints of color forming properties, the hue of color formed and light resistance of developed color images. |
