titleOfInvention Alkyl-substituted phenylcarbamate derivative of polysaccharide
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an alkyl-substd. phenylcarbamate derivative of a polysaccharide with its hydroxyl groups substd. by specified groups, which is useful as functional materials, particularly as a packing for optical resolution. n CONSTITUTION: The title product is an alkyl-substd. phenylcarbamate derivative of a polysaccharide (except cellulose) with 80W100% of its hydroxyl groups substd. by groups of formula 1, where R 1 WR 5 are each H or a 1W8C alkyl group, at least one of which is a 1W8C alkyl group. The polysaccharides used may be any of synthetic or natural polysaccharides and those modified from natural substances, as far as it is optically active. They are preferably those which are highly regular in their bonding pattern, more preferably amylase, β-1,4-chitosan, chitin, β-1,4-mannan, inulin and curdlan. These polysaccharides should preferably have a number-average degree of polymerization of at least 10. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
