titleOfInvention Polyphenylene ether resin composition of excellent flame retardancy
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title composition of excellent flame retardancy, by mixing a polyphenylene ether resin with a vinylaromatic hydrocarbon resin, a specified compound containing both phosphorus and nitrogen and a phosphate compound. n CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. resin component comprising a polyphenylene ether obtained by polycondensing a monocyclic phenol of formula I (wherein R 7 is a 1W3C lower alkyl, and R 8W9 are each H or R 7 ) or a polyphenylene ether resin (A) which is a graft copolymer thereof with a vinylaromatic compound and a vinylaromatic hydrocarbon resin (B) containing at least 25wt.% units of formula II (wherein R 10 is H or a lower alkyl and Z is a halogen or a lower alkyl) in an mount to give a ratio to component A of 1W99/99W1 is mixed with 1W50pts.wt. mixture of a compound (C) containing both phosphorus and nitrogen of formula III [wherein R 1W6 are each a 1W6C alkyl or (alkyl- substituted)phenyl, provided that the two substituents bonded to the same P through oxygen atoms must not be alkyl groups at the same time] with a phosphate compound (D) in an amount to give a ratio to component C of 10W70/90W30. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
