titleOfInvention Manufacture of polarizable electrode
abstract PURPOSE: To easily obtain a uniform polarizable electrode having high energy density and low resistance with high productivity by kneading active charcoal powder or active charcoal fiber and phenol resin, extruding the kneaded mixture, curing it, and further cutting a molding made of active charcoal powder or active charcoal fiber and molding made of carbon in a disc state through a carbonizing or activating step. n CONSTITUTION: Pulverized active charcoal fiber (phenol) and resol type phenol resin are mixed, for example, at 80:20 by weight, small amount of water is added, and continuously extruded in a columnar shape by an extrusion molding machine. After it is cured, it is heated at 40°C/hr of temperature rising velocity to 900°C in a nitrogen gas atmosphere to carbonize the phenol resin of binder. The molding thus obtained from the active charcoal fiber and the carbon is cut, an aluminum layer 2 is formed 200μm on one side face of the cut molding by a plasma flame spraying method, thereby forming a polarizing electrode 1. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
