abstract | PURPOSE:To obtain a composition for oral use, capable of enhancing dentine reinforcing action of a fluoride and further increasing anticarious effects, by using the fluoride together with a pyridine derivative. CONSTITUTION:A composition for oral use, obtained by blending (A) preferably one or more fluorides selected from sodium fluoride, potassium fluoride, ammonium fluoride, stannous fluoride, sodium monofluorophosphate and potassium monofluorophosphate with (B) preferably one or more pyridine derivatives selected from 3- or 2-pyridylcarbinol, nicotinic acid, an ester or amide thereof, especially 3- or 2-pyridylcarbinol as essential ingredients in various compositions for oral use, such as dentifrice agent, and having the above-mentioned effects. The amount of the ingredient (A) is 50-10,000ppm(mug/g), preferably 200-10,000ppm expressed in terms of the total fluorine concentration and the ingredient (B) is used in a molar amount of 1/50-10 times, preferably 1/20-5 times, especially 1/10-3 times based on the ingredient (A). |
