| abstract | The present invention relates to a system and method, respectively, for customizing a wireless communication unit 10 for use in a wireless communication system. The general radio communication unit 10 comprises means for enabling a connection setting to the switching device 20 and processing means including a program execution means 8. Software related to the wireless communication unit is provided to a plurality of storage means 5, 6, 7 which can be connected via a global data communication network. Location information is provided, and using the location information, software related to a particular general communication unit 10 is downloaded to the communication unit 10 via the switching device using a global data communication network. The invention also relates to such a general communication unit. |
