titleOfInvention | How to Route Calls in an Automatic Call Distribution Network |
abstract | Alternate destination direction change (ADR) of telephone switching systems 101 or equivalents to implement a "post-routing" routing structure with the advantages of a "pre-routing" routing structure in the network ACD (FIG. 1). Function 102 is used. The ADR function is used in the network 100 for individual ACD systems and individual call types in each ACD system to identify another ACD system as an alternative destination for individual call type calls rejected by the individual ACD systems. Managed. The network distributes 302 the calls to multiple ACD systems 110-112 based on (eg, fixed rate, round-robin) that the network does not require knowing the status of the individual ACD systems. If individual types of calls are routed to separate ACD systems, each ACD system checks 302 the status of the managed ACD system as an alternative destination for the individual types of rejected calls. If it is determined that the individual ACD system can provide better service, the individual system services the call (314). If it is determined that the alternative destination ACD system can provide better service, then the individual ACD system rejects the call (308), so that the network operating under the influence of the ADR function releases the call connection to the individual ACD system and 310, reroutes the call to an alternate destination ACD system (312).n n n n Public switched telephone networks, switching nodes, ACD systems, call allocators, PSTN, ACDR, central ACD systems |
