| abstract | Signaling is efficiently transmitted over configurable CDMA control segments. To send signaling, transmission parameters for the CDMA control segment are determined for the serving sector. This parameter may indicate the CDMA control segment size, the frame in which the CDMA control segment is transmitted, the signaling channels to be transmitted on the CDMA control segment, and the like. Enabled CDMA signaling channels for the terminal and average transmission interval for each enabled CDMA signaling channel are determined. During each frame in which a CDMA control segment is transmitted, signaling channels to be transmitted on the CDMA control segment in that frame are determined. Signaling for each signaling channel is processed (eg, encoding, channelization, scaling, and scrambling). The processed signaling for all signaling channels is combined and mapped to the time-frequency domain used for the CDMA control segment in the frame. |
