titleOfInvention Electrical connector with frequency tuned ground plane
abstract An electrical connector 100 is disclosed having a frequency tuned ground plane 108. The connector includes a signal medium 102 for communicating electrical signals and a frequency tuned ground plane medium 108 for communicating a reference voltage (i.e., ground). The ground plane medium 108 differentially supplies a reference voltage to the ground plane second end 112 in response to the frequency of the electrical signal. In one aspect, the first ground plane layer conductive trace 208 includes a transmission line pattern, and the second ground plane layer conductive trace 212 is connected to the first ground plane layer conductive through the plurality of conductive vias 214. Is connected to the trace. For example, the first ground plane layer 208 can include a plurality of conductive patches 216, some of which have via connections 214 to the second ground plane layer conductive traces 212.
