abstract The present invention is to depolymerize waste polyester using ethylene glycol as depolymerization catalyst to produce bis-2-hydroxyethyl terephthalate (BHET) as an intermediate, and to produce bis-2-hydroxyethyl terephthalate (BHET). After mixing the melting point modifier with a part, polycondensation was carried out again to obtain a regenerated low melting polyester, and the other part of the bis-2-hydroxyethyl terephthalate (BHET) was polycondensed as it was prepared from a general regenerated polyester. After that, an inorganic antimicrobial agent is added and kneaded to obtain a regenerated antimicrobial polyester having antimicrobial properties, and these are mixed spinning to obtain a low melting antimicrobial regenerated polyester filament and a method for producing the filament.
