The present invention provides diacylhydrazine ligands of formula I and chiral diacylhydrazine ligands of formula II or III for use with an exendin receptor-family inducible gene expression system. Thus, the present invention is directed to applications such as gene therapy, large-scale production of proteins and antibodies, cell-line screening assays, functional genomics, proteomics, metabolism and regulation of gene expression in transgenic organisms that require gene expression control useful.
