abstract A method and apparatus for receiving a High Speed Downlink Shared Channel (HS-DSCH) transmission is disclosed. An HS-DSCH Medium Access Control (MAC-ehs) entity receives a MAC-ehs protocol data unit (PDU) over a High Speed Downlink Shared Channel (HS-DSCH) while in one of the Cell_FACH, Cell_PCH, and URA_PCH states. The reordering PDUs contained in the MAC-ehs PDU may be transmitted to the next processing entity without performing reordering of the PDUs. Upon occurrence of the triggering event, the predetermined reordering queue enters the suspended state and the MAC-ehs PDUs distributed to the suspended state reordering queue can be forwarded to the next processing entity without performing reordering. The MAC-ehs reset procedure can be extended for a given transmission such that a MAC-ehs reset is performed after receiving the MAC-ehs PDU in the target cell. n n A high-speed downlink shared channel, an HS-DSCH, a reordering queue, a protocol data unit
