abstract |
The present invention provides compositions and methods for modulating Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection, including materials that inhibit the ability of high motility box 1 (HMGB1) proteins to interact with natural killer (NK) cells. Therapeutic compositions include antibodies and drugs that bind HMGBl, such as glycyrrhizin. Methods for detecting or monitoring HIV infection include the detection or quantification of HMGB1 or HMGB1 specific antibodies in biological samples. |
