The method and system continuously inline anneal the ferromagnetic amorphous alloy ribbon forwards in a curved shape to improve the magnetic properties without causing the ribbon to be brittle and operate at a valid high ribbon feed rate. The amorphous alloy ribbon is heated at a point along the path at a rate greater than 10 < 3 > C / s to a temperature that is feed forwarded, tangentialized, guided and initiates heat treatment at a predetermined feed rate. The ribbon is then cooled initially at a rate greater than 10 < 3 > C / s until the heat treatment is complete. During the heat treatment, a series of mechanical constraints are applied to the ribbon until the amorphous alloy ribbon has adopted a particular shape that has been frozen after the heat treatment is completed. After the initial cooling, the amorphous alloy ribbon is then cooled at a sufficient rate to a temperature that will maintain the particular shape. |
