abstract |
The solar energy collector includes a first member and a second member having a first end and a second end and a cavity and a longitudinal axis. The first member has an elongated window extending between the first end and the second end to form a portion of the first member and an elongated body that forms another portion of the first member. The window contains material that passes solar energy. The body has an outer surface and an inner surface. The second member is located in the cavity of the first member parallel to the longitudinal axis of the first member and carries the solar energy absorbing fluid and is made of glass, quartz, plastic, metal or a combination thereof. The cavity between the first member and the second member is filled with an insulating material that is fluid or vacuum. The solar energy collection system includes this solar energy collector and a solar energy concentrator that concentrates solar energy on the window of the solar energy collector. |
