titleOfInvention Pneumatically actuated valves for carbonation machines
abstract The carbonation machine includes a pneumatic chamber with a movable wall. The movable wall moves outward when the air pressure in the pneumatic chamber is increased and presses on a pin of a gas release valve of a gas canister held in a canister holder of the carbonation machine. An air release valve is closeable to retain air in the pneumatic chamber. An air pump may operate to pump air from the surrounding atmosphere into the pneumatic chamber such that the air pressure within the pneumatic chamber is increased. The controller closes the air release valve and activates the air pump to increase the air pressure in the pneumatic chamber to move the movable wall outward to open the gas release valve of the canister so that gas is released from the canister to carbonate the liquid and also closes the air release valve. It is configured to open and close the gas release valve.
