The present invention relates to DNA (RNA) encoding human Ckβ-8, MIP-4 and Ckβ-1 and chemokine polypeptides, and a method for producing the polypeptide by recombinant technology is disclosed. Also disclosed are methods of using chemokine polypeptides for leukemia, tumors, chronic infections, autoimmune diseases, fibrotic diseases, wound healing and psoriasis. The use of antagonists against chemokine polypeptides and antagonists against rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune and chronic and acute inflammatory and infectious diseases, allergic reactions, postglandin-dependent fever and osteomyelitis. Also disclosed are diagnostic assays for detecting concentration changes in diseases and polypeptides associated with variations in nucleic acid sequences. |
