titleOfInvention Light-cathode electron source with extractor grid
abstract A light-cathode electron source suitable for use in a flat panel display has extractor grid means 104 that, when in use, is held at a positive potential relative to the light-cathode surface. The extractor grid means can be used as a carrier for the unfired photoemissive material forming the emitting surface of the light-cathode. The photoemissive material is deposited from the extractor grid 104 onto the surface 103 of the light-cathode means 102 through evaporation.
