Absorbent articles with nits and free-flowing particles |
abstract |
Absorbent articles are described that include fibrous knits and other free flowing particles. In one embodiment, an absorbent article is described that includes free flowable particles in certain portions that, together with other absorbent members, provide excellent body compatibility and good fluid handling performance. In another embodiment, good leakage control is provided by the combined effect of good absorption and fluid handling performance of the fibrous knit coupled with the wicking barrier layer between the knit and the longitudinal side of the article. The shape of the product can be further improved when any central lifting member is pressed to bend vertically the portion containing the knit upwards. Also described are methods of making cellulose knits and incorporating them into absorbent articles. |
