titleOfInvention Method of scheduling for guaranteeing various kinds of QoS in Ethernet-PON
abstract The present invention relates to a scheduling algorithm for providing a multimedia service such as a broadcast service and a high quality video service in an optical access network. The present invention provides a variety of QoS constraints assigned to a given class, namely delay, delay difference (Jitter), in a situation where a different type of service is required for each class during downlink data transmission of an Ethernet passive optical network (E-PON). It is an adaptive scheduling algorithm that guarantees losses, which has been proposed to guarantee short time performance, which is not only a long time average performance, but also a user's actual experience. A feature of the present invention is to increase the efficiency of the real-time service band allocation scheme by using a calculation formula that can quickly calculate the relationship between various types of QoS and service band in a dynamically changing traffic environment.
