abstract |
Sensing system 600 is used while irradiating an interactive region of a structure that includes a material embedded with laser light. The sensing system 600 includes a collimating lens 610 arranged to receive light emitted from the interaction region. The sensing system further includes an optical fiber 620 optically coupled to the collimating lens and a spectrometer 630 optically coupled to the optical fiber. The spectrometer functions as a light analyzer for displaying the substances embedded in the interaction region. The spectrometer includes an input slit 631 that receives light from the optical fiber 620. The input slit has a width chosen to provide sufficient light transmission and sufficient resolution. The spectrometer further includes an optical grating 632 that receives light from the input slit and separates the light into spectra of various wavelengths. The spectrometer further includes an aggregation lens 633 that accepts a selected range of wavelengths of light separated from the optical grating. The spectrometer further includes an optical sensor 634 that accepts a selected range of wavelengths and generates a signal corresponding to the intensity of the received light. |
